My 14yr old son collected money for Joplin, Mo victims and spent it on himself, can he get into trouble?

That's called fraud and it's illegal but as his parent you need too discipline him, Whatever he bought with the money should go back and he should have to donate the money as he should of in the first place. I'd make him tell the truth to whoever was in charge of the collection and if he can't get his money back I'd pay for it out of my own money and make him find a way to earn it back. That wouldn't even be the punishment though, that would just be righting the wrong he did. He'd be spending a long time in his room without TV, computer, games, etc. He'd be doing stuff around the house and I'd tell him more then once how wrong it was for him to do that.
